Back when we were relatively unaware the damage smoking could do to our health, we were positively encouraged to smoke by the enticing collectable cards contained in each pack. These varied from nature and buildings to US presidents and famous cricketers. A while ago I discovered that a set of these cards was called ‘The Legends Of Britain’ and I managed to get my hands on a set from the 1930s, which have been patiently waiting on my desk.
They are almost 100 years old!
Looking through them the other day, I thought what better excuse to explore the stories of the UK than starting with the first in the series and working right through to number 46. At one a month, that should take us almost 4 years! We better get started!
Note: I am not promoting smoking in any way and neither am I being sponsored for these posts. I am simply sharing the joy of these wondrous little cards from the 1930s.
