Hi Folks,

Stopping by on this sunny, yet bitterly cold day here on the South Downs with a little story listen for you.

It was around five years ago that I first met Lesley and Mario Price also known as Zingaro Blue, at an event, and they asked me if I knew any good folktales. As it happened I did and I told them my version of the Twa Sisters.

A well known story and ballad, it’s also known as The Singing Bone or Binnoire and it’s one of my favourite tales to tell. The little song I sing for the harp is one I created myself and Lesley and Mario liked it so much, that it formed the basis of a song that appeared on their 2021 album ‘A Handful Of Songs.’

Since then they’ve been working hard on a project called Folk-A-Dilly Tales, that showcases all of the stories and ballads they have created so far and I was delighted to be invited to contribute my version of the Twa Sisters to the second episode of the podcast.
