The olive tree is a hardy evergreen, drought resistant and productive for thousands of years. Olives are typically associated with the Mediterranean, in particular Italy and Greece but they are also grown in South Africa, Chile, Peru, Pakistan, Australia, Oregon, California and New Zealand.
