Merry met folks. I’ve just finished an epic seven days of spooky storytelling across three counties and I’m stopping by to share my week with you.
It started with Spooky Woodland Walks at Walmer Castle in Kent and ended with folktales at Weald and Downland Museum on the Friday, with more tellings in Kent and Sussex in between and a workshop on Iping Common with Chichester Festival Theatre for their Youth Outreach programme. Here’s the low down in stats -
Below, for you delectation, are some photos from the last seven days and a reasonably healthy snack that’s got me through the week. The photos and recipe are available for everyone and under that there is a little bonus vlog for paid subscribers that includes me chatting about my week and telling one of the stories I’ve been telling pretty much every day for the seven and I never get tired of it, thus proving you can’t keep a good story down.
Seven Days in Seven Photos

Chocolate Almonds
This little snack has got me through this week, offering protein and a sugar boost without the dramatic sugar high. It’s my go to snack these days when I need a pick me up:
200g Almonds
200g Dark Chocolate
A splash of rose essence
A sprinkle of sea salt
Roast the almonds on around 160c for about 5 minutes. Melt the dark chocolate in a bowl over some hot water. Add the rose essence to the dark chocolate, to your taste. Add the roasted almonds to the chocolate bowl and combine thoroughly. Spoon out clusters of almonds onto a baking sheet. Sprinkle a little sea salt on the top of each one and leave to cool. Place in the fridge if possible. One set, enjoy!
