Hi Folks!
During the 2020/21 pandemic (which is still reverberating as I know many of you are still feeling its effects) I created several storytelling videos for families and adult audiences. Many of these are still on my YouTube channel.
I then spent a year with The South Downs National Park Authority in 2022/23 and created lots of local folklore videos for their channel, which you can find here.
After a break from making these videos for my own channel, I would like to get back to making them again and so it is my intention to retell some of my favourite seasonal stories for you. I love creating these videos but they do take time and so I have set myself the goal of creating one per season. Four over the next year. Should be doable, right?
Paid subscribers will get to preview these videos a month before anyone else and the first one I have recorded is ‘Stingy Jack’.
Stingy Jack is an Irish folktale thought to originate from the 17th century and I’ve been telling it all this week at The Weald & Download Living Museum. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I enjoy telling it and so, without further ado, here is my story for autumn:
Dawn, this is excellent! And very appropriate for this dark and rainy day. Thank you!
Brilliant retelling, great format. Thank you Dawn : )
