Sussex Day is celebrated each year on the 16th June and it celebrates the heritage and culture we find in Sussex. The 16th of June is of particular importance because on this day in 1276, the body of St Richard was moved from a fairly inauspicious grave to a magnificent crypt in Chichester Cathedral.
In honour of Sussex Day, as part of my contract with the South Downs National Park, I’ve recorded three stories that celebrate the folklore of the county. The tales I have chosen are ‘The Lyminster Knucker Dragon,’ ‘The Journey of St Cuthman’, and ‘The Fae Folk Of Beeding Hill’. You can find more about these stories on the South Downs National Park’s website here and below are links to the videos of me telling the tales.
This is a bonus free post for newsletter subscribers. Thank you for supporting this newsletter through June. Supporting my work in this way allows me to continue to write freely and authentically and I thank you from the bottom of my storytelling heart.
