*I am not. by any stretch of the imagination an expert in any era of re-enactment, I’m what you might call a generalist when it comes to history, clothing and social customs of the time. What I do is research the stories of that era and in doing so glean a lot of information about the way they lived and their morals and ethics. After-all, that’s what story is, right? A way of keeping us on the right path.

Oh, Robin Hood! When I was little I had a book of Robin Hood stories - I think retold by Enid Blyton. I remember being distraught when I read the story of Robin's death, particularly as I had just seen the marvellous Disney version at the cinema and my vision of Robin was that of a handsome fox. I was so upset that my Mum had to hide my book. How I love those stories though! I'm excited to hear your take on them - just don't be surprised if I cry at the end ... 🦊x
