National Storytelling Week 2025
From 1st - 9th February, it’s National Storytelling Week here in the UK, an annual initiative, now in its 25th year, aimed at introducing people to and celebrating the oral storytelling tradition.
As a member of the Society For Storytelling and a storyteller working within the oral tradition, this year I’m sharing stories from the archive that celebrate the landscape of Britain. Here’s what’s coming up:
Day 1 - A Story For The Trees
Day 2 - A Story For The Barrows
Day 3 - A Story For The Sea
Day 4 - A Story For The Marshes
Day 5 - A Story For The Farmland
Day 6 - A Story For The Hedgerows
Day 7 - A Story For The Castles
Day 8 - A Story For The Meadow
Day 9 - A Story For The Rivers
Each day I‘ll send you a story from the archive and collate them all together here on this page, so if you miss one, you can find them easily.
I hope you enjoy each story as they arrive and as always, please spread the word, share, like and comment. Stories need to be shared and it makes all the difference to know you’re all out there sharing them. Watch out for the first story coming this Saturday.
